W103 | From First to Final Draft | Lou-Ellen Barkan Wednesdays - 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. Zoom CLOSED - AT CAPACITY This class will not be recorded |
We all have stories to share, including that special story we've been meaning to write. The funny, poignant, clever story. The one we love to share with friends, family, and colleagues. But what makes a great story? Whether fiction or non-fiction, whether comedy or drama, great stories need engaging characters and strong narratives. In this workshop, participants will review the art and craft of storytelling while writing one story, from first to final draft. Participants will share and critique each other's work and, at the last session, explore opportunities for publication. The world is waiting for our stories. Start here! After a lifetime in New York City and three careers, Lou-Ellen Barkan and her husband retired to the Berkshires where she teaches, writes and runs a writers' group. Her work has appeared in Lowestoft Chronicle, Penumbra, Round Table Magazine, Bright Flash, The Jewish Literary Journal andLittle Old Lady Comedy, among others. A sample of her work can be read at https://www.clippings.me/users/lebarkan. |
