In collaboration with the Berkshire County Historical Society’s exhibition on the New Deal, this class will take advantage of the work done by the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1933 – 1942 in developing state forests and parks. Walks will take place in Pittsfield State Forest, Mt. Greylock, Bear Mountain, October Mountain and Savoy Mountain. Walks will vary in length but with a goal of 90 minutes in length. Easy to moderate in difficulty, but over rough terrain.

Class limit 10 participants.

Erin Hunt is Curator at the Berkshire County Historical Society at Herman Melville’s Arrowhead balancing it with her role as the Administrative Manager at the Bidwell House Museum. John Dickson is a recreational hiker and volunteer/tour guide at the Berkshire County Historical Society.
