Dr. Tareq Abu Hamed, Director of the Arava Institute
Deborah Caine graduated from Keele University in 1954 with an Honours degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. She came to the United States in 1954 to the New School in New York and then studied philosophy at Columbia University. She was a teaching fellow in philosophy at the University of Michigan, before moving to Israel where she studied with Walter Kaufman at the Hebrew University. Returning to the US she was a teaching fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. She also taught philosophy at Drexel University. She then left to help found an independent congregation, the Society Hill Congregation in Philadelphia. She taught Philosophers of Judaism at the congregation for many years. Deborah coordinates the Climate Change SIG for OLLI at BCC. |
