Listening to Chamber Music SIG
Attention Chamber Music Lovers!
The Listening to Chamber Music SIG is for people who are interested in chamber music and who would enjoy learning about and listening to chamber music repertoire with other chamber music aficionados. The proposed format will be that the leader of each meeting will provide program notes about a piece, the group will listen together and then discuss what they think about the piece. This is the proposed format, it is expected that the group will tweak it and decide together what works best and which chamber works will please our collective ear.
Because sound quality over Zoom is generally poor, this group will meet in person with once a month meetings .

Our next meeting will be on January 3 at 1:00. We will be looking at a Haydn Quartet and a Beethoven Quartet, to understand how string quartets developed from the earliest of Haydn's (Haydn who is known as the father of string quartets) to Beethoven who was the great innovator. Harriet will also do some basic demonstrating on violin and viola so that we can better understand differences between the two and some of the tools of the trade.Contact Harriet Wetstone for time & location.
