Good stories matter. They make a difference. Stories have the power to make us better human beings—and to make the world better.

We have a need to find and make meaning in our lives—stories help us do that. Everything has its own voice, its own way of communicating, so do you. What’s your story? And how do you tell it? Join us in this class to develop and strengthen your unique voice. We will use creative writing techniques, exercises and prompts to find the core of our story.

Suggested Readings:

  • On Writing Well: The Classic Guide to Writing Nonfiction by William Zinsser
  • Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within by Natalie Goldberg
Guest Speaker: One class will feature guest speaker Maria Black, who is a long-time Berkshire-based writer and was awarded a 2022 Pushcart Prize for her story in The Sun magazine

Robin Fasano has written for Spirituality & Health, Berkshire Magazine, Berkshire Living, and The Massachusetts Review, among others. She has worked in publishing, philanthropy, public relations and communications.
