T105 | Hiking Berkshire Waterfalls | Tuesdays - 3:00 p.m. In-person at Various Locations CLOSED - AT CAPACITY |
With the melting of the snow and the showers that bring May flowers, the waterfalls and cascades of the Berkshires should be flowing during April and May. Join us as we hike the trails and view the falls and cascades. Learn about the geological formations that shape where the falls will occur, the difference between waterfalls and cascades and, in some cases, the Native American legends associated with the waterfalls. John and Kate Kidd are experienced all season Berkshire hikers. Active volunteers with the Berkshire Natural Resources Council, they coordinate a weekly hiking group that started in 2007 after an OLLI class. This will be their fifth time leading an OLLI hiking class. They will be sharing knowledge of geology, historic land use, and flora and fauna gained through the OLLI Berkshire Naturalist course. |
