Four Sessions

Celebrate 100 years since the creation of Pittsfield State Forest by exploring some of its many trails and sites, including beaver ponds, panoramic vistas, mountain streams and cellar holes. Ninety minutes to two-hour hikes will take in this gem, so close and underutilized. Hikes are easy to moderate in difficulty.

A recreational hiker, John Dickson wanders around Pittsfield State Forest as often as he can, in all weather. He’s a retired diplomat and local historian.
