Online

6/1, 6/8, 6/15 & 6/22

Four Sessions

This course is offered online via the easy-to-use Zoom program.

Geared toward those with a minimal understanding of algebra who are eager to broaden their horizons, this course addresses many of the key tenets of mathematics: How do we use numbers?  Why is zero so important?  How do you convince someone of the validity of a conjecture?  Potential explorations include time, the "Golden Ratio" in art and architecture, prime real estate, characteristics and patterns of the Fibonacci sequence, infinity and beyond, puzzles, games and much more.

Course notes will be emailed to participants in advance.

Andy Pauker holds an MBA from Northwestern University and an MS from SUNY Stony Brook.  Now retired from a long career including teaching high school math, CAD/CAM programming, software support managing and directing, as well as customer service, IT, and Quality VP’ing.  He has guest lectured at MIT and Northwestern, and is now happily returning to his first loves - math substitute teaching and tutoring, and puttering around the house.
