Downhill Skiing SIG
The Downhill Skiing SIG is, obviously, seasonal. We welcome skiers of all levels. In 2021-2024 (in 2025, I did not ski), we met pretty much every Friday morning at Butternut…and skied for 2+ hours. The season’s pass (mid-week, non-holiday) for $149 for those 70+ makes this an attractive mountain for the group. The new SkyTrac quad lift for 2025/26, replacing the old Overbrook triple, will opens more of the mountain. There are about 20 members, but typically there are 5-6 who meet and ski regularly. More would be more fun.
Catamount, Bosquet and Berkshire East are free if 80+.
In prior years, there were occasional day trips to Snow and Stratton…and occasional Jiminy and Catamount meetups as well…usually just arranged within the group. Normally, there is a get-together in early December at a local coffee shop, or on Zoom, to meet and get to know each other. “Meets” are arranged mostly through email.
