Whether playing one of his handmade flutes with the London Mozart Players, or welcoming the summer solstice in the rotunda of the National Museum of the American Indian, Hawk Henries plays to honor the sacredness of his listeners and all cultures.

Henries is a member of the Chaubunagungamaug band of Nipmuc, a Native American community from Massachusetts. In concert, Henries shares both the Nipmuc musical tradition but also the stories behind their music. Hawk’s original music has been released on his solo CDs Keeping the Fire and Voices and has been featured in award winning documentaries. A repeat performer in the New Orleans Jazz Festival and the Tunica-Biloxi Pow Wow, Hawk’s music carries his listeners across musical and cultural boundaries.

Tickets are $5 each. Please pay at the door.
