Romantic Comedies, or rom-coms, go back to Shakespeare’s days with A Midsummer Night’s Dream, All’s Well That Ends Well and As You Like It (just to name a few). Hollywood has a long history of this popular genre going back to the 1930s. We will trace the evolution of rom-coms culminating with what some say is the greatest Hollywood rom-com, When Harry Met Sally. Quizzes with prizes will occur each week.

The films are:

January 14: It Happened One Night (1934)

January 21: Adam’s Rib (1949)

January 28: Roman Holiday (1953)

February 4: Lover Come Back (1961)

February 11: When Harry Met Sally (1989)
