Five Sessions

This course will be offered online via the free, easy-to-use Zoom program.

The nineteenth century Hudson River School produced more than beautiful and sublime landscape paintings. These artists helped forge our nation’s identity and continue to inspire environmental awareness.  This course will look at the lives, works and influences of Thomas Cole, Frederic Church, Asher Durand, Jasper Cropsey and Albert Bierstadt, among others.  Paintings from the Berkshire Museum’s collection will be shown.

Ralph Pearson MPS, Hotel Administration, Cornell University, has taught for the past three decades as a traveling worldwide tour manager.  Born and raised in the Upper Hudson Valley, his lifelong passion for art began when he experienced the same wonders as did the artists.  He continues the experience.
