Six Sessions

We will discuss six different protected properties in Berkshire County, all of which have hiking trails open to the public; in North Adams, Chester, Lenox, Stockbridge, Alford, and Monterey. We will learn how the land has been used (and misused) over the centuries, dating back to before the arrival of Europeans. Through pictures, maps, and online resources, we will meet many of the characters who inhabited or were associated with these properties, and how all of this informs us about the evolution of society and culture in the Berkshires and beyond.

Michael Wilcox is President of the Board of Autism Connections and Town Moderator in Alford.
