The understanding of the creative potential of older adults that has emerged in this millennium has been one of the major cultural breakthroughs in human history. This course will explore the therapeutic benefits of various creative methods for older adults through lecture and art-making. $10 materials fee will be payable to the instructor at first class session. LIMITED REGISTRATION.

Marney Schorr received the Massachusetts State Senate award for State Leadership in Suicide Prevention in 2018 for her work as an art therapist. Her community arts initiatives include a family art therapy project; Arts in Recovery programs for women recovering from addictions, loss or trauma; and for youth at risk for suicide. In addition to her private practice, she is a Visiting Teaching Artist, participates in local art exhibitions throughout New England, and is an internship supervisor in the Art Therapy Department at Springfield College. www.marneyschorr.webs.com
